Juluwarlu receives Pilbara Regional Economic Development Grant

The Regional Economic Development Grants for the Pilbara Region was announced today by the Hon. Minister for Regional Development, Alannah McTiernan.

Amongst the successful proponents in the Pilbara region was Juluwarlu Aboriginal Corporation who received $50,000 to support plans to develop an online, interactive cultural awareness training program to meet growing demand for the service from the Pilbara region’s resources industry.

Juluwarlu's ( www.juluwarlu.com.au ) mission is to collect, preserve, reproduce, exhibit, publish and broadcast the culture and history of the Yindjibarndi people. Juluwarlu's has been recognised by the National Library of Australia for creating a collection of great significance for local people, as well as in State and national discourse. RFF was pleased to support Juluwarlu in pitching the project for grant funding and glad to see the merits of the business model were recognised through this grant process. Congratulations to all others who were successful in securing funds for their economic development initiative.
