Our Projects
Camping with Custodians: Peedamulla Campground
CLIENT: Tourism WA, Jundaru Aboriginal Corporation
PROJECT VALUE: 2.5 MILLION
The Pilbara's first Camping with Custodians project opened in 2018 on Peedamulla Station, just north of Onslow. Camping with Custodians is an Australian-first initiative that enables travellers to stay on Aboriginal lands and engage with Aboriginal people. The campground includes 20 campsites and basic amenities, including hot showers, unisex toilets, communal fire pit, drinking water, and a covered BBQ area.
The project was successful in securing $2 million from the State Government of WA, enabling the project to be delivered.
RFF led the preparation of the early design and business case for financial support from Tourism WA. We subsequently assisted Tourism WA manage procurement of contractors and completion of the campground.
